**How To Make Easter Cookies**

Step 1: Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl and set aside
Step 2: In a large bowl cream the butter and sugar until pale
Step 3: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract
Step 4: Add the flour to the butter mix and mix until the dough is formed
Step 5: Wrap the cookie dough in cling and chill for at least one hour
Step 6: Preheat the oven to 170 C/fan 150 C
Step 7: Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 0.5cm
Step 8: Cut out the cookies and transfer to baking sheets
Step 9: Roll up the trimmings and repeat stages above to make more cookies
Step 10: Bake for 8 – 12 minutes until golden
Step 11: Remove and transfer to a cooling wire and leave until completely cool before decorating
